Military Wellness Resources
The journey of mental wellness is a lifelong process for any individual. In recognizing the sacrifice our military community has given through their service, IST's Community Outreach team sought to research and identify essential resources specific to the needs of our valued military members.
Wellness begins with the self through exercise, meditation, reflection, or seeking counseling. It may also start by connecting to a community where others can empathize with our personal experience and help us acknowledge that our battles are often not isolated.
Our community outreach team at IST Management recommends the following resources to begin investing in your mental wellness:
- Veteran’s Crisis Line: Confidential Crisis Support for Veterans and their loved ones provided 24/7. Callers do not have to be enrolled in VA benefits or health care to connect. Call 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1; TEXT 838255 or Chat Online.
- Make the Connection: Online resources to connect with other veterans, hear their stories and build tools around self-help.
- HIGHLIGHTS:
- Testimonial videos discuss reconnecting with family, grief, transitioning from service, work-related problems, and more.
- Free courses to build skills for optimal self-discovery and advocacy via Veteran Affairs.
- Mental Health Tool Kit Free online toolkit for Women Veterans, offering tips and resources for managing difficult emotions.
- HIGHLIGHTS:
- Invisible Veterans: Kate Hendricks Thomas TEDxTuscaloosa on “Emotional Transitions for Women Veterans.”

Remember, mental health is ongoing and personalized to the individual. We hope these resources offer a springboard to explore your best self and connect with others who share your background and goals. IST Management is committed to supporting our military community and creating space for connection and advocacy.
