If you don’t build something intentionally, day by day, you can’t expect long-term success to show up magically. We didn’t get here by accident. When I started IST almost 29 years ago with two employees in Atlanta, I didn’t have venture capital. I didn’t have debt.
At IST, we’ve always believed that if you get the people right, everything else follows. You can build great systems. You can invest in incredible technology. But if you don’t have people who care, who want to serve and want to make an impact… none of it works.
After decades in this industry, you’d think I’d have it all figured out by now. But here’s what I’ve learned along the way… real growth rarely starts inside your comfort zone.

Many years ago, IST’s CEO and President, Hal Blackman, met a group of children with Cystic Fibrosis. This interaction changed Hal’s life and set the course for IST Management’s incredible journey of supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
As we enter yet another magical holiday season, IST Gives Back is inspired to celebrate the end of another successful year of service, business, and partnerships. This season is a time to slow down, reflect, and be grateful.
According to the United Nations Volunteers Program in 2018, Americans donated more of their time than any other nation in the world. Participating in community service initiatives is deeply rooted in American culture and continues to shape communities through service, collaboration, and generosity.
