Meaningful partnerships are personal. This tenet shapes IST as a leading business, but it goes beyond that. Sharing your story invites connection. It allows others a moment to understand your perspective and celebrate your identity. At IST, we value this characteristic in how we work with clients and in knowing and honoring our team. As a part of our community outreach, IST Gives Back, we highlight our employees and important initiatives within our community, and from September 15th to October 15th, we're focusing on Hispanic Heritage Month.
Hispanic Heritage Month
Throughout our social media, we've asked IST employees about themselves and what Hispanic Heritage Month means to them, and I have loved reading the responses. From Executive Assistance Ana Rodriguez Juvinao sharing, "Being in touch with my background serves as a constant reminder of why I work hard," to Operations Manager Jose Gomez Jr., when speaking of his Grandparents says, "Their difficult journey inspired my successful career, and their values influenced the person I am today." These stories are fantastic reminders of how unique our journeys are and how they impact our future.
Included in our social media feature is my wife, Rosa, who was raised in Uruapan, Michoacan, Mexico. Rosa's heritage and story have enriched my life immensely. I've been fortunate to share many trips with Rosa to spend time with her family in Mexico, including our wedding, and I love every moment we get to host family at our home in Georgia. Our family reminds us that we have so much to learn from each other. I am very grateful for how it has impacted my life.
Community at the Center
In considering Hispanic Heritage Month, I want to recognize our Executive Assistants and Events team for affirming IST's dedication to collaborating with diverse vendors for all our events. Investing in minority-owned and women-owned businesses and celebrating various cultures is a top priority for IST. As a company that is all about building community, I love knowing that we do so with full representation of all cultures.
Every person at IST brings a unique wealth of experience and stories, allowing us to be the Company with Passion! The brilliant Maya Angelou once said, "You can't really know where you are going until you know where you have been," and I think this quote really summarizes why sharing our stories is so important.
