The Power of Positive Feedback

The Power of Positive Feedback

When was the last time you received positive feedback? I'm certain those who have received positive feedback remember when they did, and I bet the encouragement made their experience more meaningful.

In our fast-paced work environment, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, focusing solely on tasks and deadlines. However, taking the time to recognize and appreciate our colleagues' efforts can profoundly impact our team dynamics and overall success. It can encourage collaboration and reaffirm the importance of working hard.

Whether you're new to IST or have been with us since the beginning, hopefully you've witnessed how much value we place on positive feedback. I love sharing emails from clients or team members when others go above and beyond in their duties. Highlighting these moments, company-wide, is a way to recognize those leaders and see how our collective efforts build the highest level of service in the industry. Working odd hours to complete our clients' most pressing tasks, asking questions, and being enthusiastic and hardworking contribute to our mission and are noticed in our partnerships. Keep the good news coming!

This month, the second round of our Semi-Annual Survey closes. This survey is an excellent tool for celebrating high-performing employees in multiple categories and determining who will receive an Eagle Award for Overall Survey Winners early next year. This initiative, as well as many other programs we have at IST, is all part of our goal to lead with the best customer service. There is no such thing as too much positive feedback when you're the Company with Passion!

I encourage each one of you to actively incorporate positive feedback into your daily interactions. Here are some tips to get started:

  • Be Specific: Be specific about what you're appreciating. Detailing the action or behavior that impressed you makes the feedback more meaningful.
  • Be Timely: Don't wait! If you see something great, say something right away. It has a more significant impact when the memory is fresh.
  • Acknowledge Openly: Publicly acknowledging someone's achievements during team meetings or via email can be a powerful way to boost their confidence and motivate others.

At IST, we have a great opportunity to lead in innovation and customer service, which are easier to achieve when we feel empowered. If you haven't in a while, take a moment to share positive feedback with someone on your team. It matters.

Thank you for all you do.
