One daily habit I set to accomplish is sending a company-wide email to encourage everyone that it is our honor to serve our clients and empower them to do amazing work. This habit and morning workouts remind me to center my focus on achieving personal and professional goals daily.
As we enter the year's final stretch, it's a perfect time to reflect and reset. Empowering ourselves to embrace new habits is crucial for personal and professional growth. Change starts with just one small action; what will yours be today? Every great achievement begins with the decision to try something different. Let’s commit to actionable steps that align with our visions and goals.
A prime example of IST’s commitment to improvement is the meaningful changes we implemented to our site audit program this year. Site audits have always been at the core of IST’s “What gets measured, gets managed” approach to customer service excellence. While the program was good, it lacked consistency from market to market. To address this, I empowered my operations team to revamp the program. Now, site audits are overseen by our National Director of Operations, Charlie Merritt, who personally conducts virtual audits using video conferencing technology and updated standards to ensure every site meets our high expectations. Although the changes to the program were small, the impact on service levels across the country has been significant, setting a new benchmark for us to exceed in customer service through technology, innovation, and inspiring our team to deliver unparalleled service daily.
Making changes does not mean throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Consider the habits that may no longer serve you. Are there routines that hinder your progress? Identify at least one thing you can let go of or alter. This process of elimination is just as important as adopting new practices. It allows us to create space for positive changes and focus our energy on what truly matters. Each small adjustment contributes to a greater transformation over time, leading us toward the success we envision.
Every year, I like to fire myself and challenge myself to find ways to better myself. I challenge you to “fire yourself” and to think beyond the ordinary. What unique practices can you adopt that will lead to exceptional outcomes? Whether it's setting aside time for reading, engaging in a new sport, or fostering healthier relationships, each habit has the potential to impact your life significantly. Empowerment comes from within, and you can transform your day and future by taking deliberate steps forward.
Let’s make the coming months count—every step brings you closer to your goals!
